Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 18, 2026 · Last updated: July 18, 2026

Mon Daily French ("the App") is a French-language learning application available for iOS and Android. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and the choices available to you.

Summary

Mon Daily French is designed to work without creating an account. We do not sell personal information, serve advertisements, track users across apps or websites, or use third-party analytics.

Most learning information is stored locally on your device. On iOS, you may optionally synchronize selected learning progress through your private iCloud account.

Information the App accesses

Microphone and speech recognition

If you choose a speaking, pronunciation, dictation, or conversation exercise, the App requests access to your device's microphone and speech-recognition service. Audio is used only to recognize your spoken French and provide transcription or pronunciation feedback.

The App does not record or store raw microphone audio after the exercise, and the developer does not receive or retain your recordings. Speech recognition is provided by the operating system. Depending on your device, operating-system settings, installed language models, and platform provider, speech recognition may occur on the device or may be processed by Apple or Google under their respective privacy policies.

You can deny or revoke microphone and speech-recognition permission in your device settings. The rest of the App remains available, but features requiring spoken input will not work.

Learning progress and preferences

The App stores information needed to provide its learning features, including items such as:

This information is stored locally on your device. It is used only to operate the App, personalize practice, show progress, and preserve your settings.

Optional iCloud synchronization on iOS

On iOS, progress synchronization can be enabled through iCloud. When enabled, selected learning information — such as your level, goals, mastery, review schedule, and mistake notebook — is stored in the private iCloud key-value store associated with your Apple ID. The developer does not have access to your Apple ID or private iCloud data.

You can disable iCloud synchronization in the App's settings. Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's privacy policy and your iCloud settings.

Notifications

With your permission, the App schedules local practice reminders. Reminder settings are stored on your device. The App does not use notifications for advertising and does not send notification tokens to the developer.

Information we do not collect

The App does not intentionally collect or transmit to the developer:

The App does not contain third-party advertising or third-party analytics SDKs.

How information is used

Information accessed or stored by the App is used to:

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information for advertising or marketing.

Data retention and deletion

Locally stored learning data remains on your device until you reset the App's data, clear the App's storage, or uninstall the App.

On iOS, the App's reset feature removes local learning data and its App-specific iCloud progress snapshot. You can also manage iCloud data through your Apple ID and device settings. On Android, you can remove locally stored data by clearing the App's storage or uninstalling the App.

Because the App does not require a developer-managed account or backend, the developer generally has no server-side user record to identify or delete.

Data security

The App relies on platform security controls supplied by iOS, Android, Apple iCloud, and the device's speech-recognition provider. No method of electronic storage or processing can be guaranteed to be completely secure, but the App minimizes data use and does not operate a developer-controlled user-data server.

Children's privacy

The App is a general-audience language-learning tool and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. It does not include advertising, social networking, public profiles, or direct messaging. If you believe a child has provided personal information to the developer, please contact us so it can be addressed.

International use

Platform services such as iCloud or speech recognition may process information in locations determined by Apple or Google. Their handling of information is governed by their respective terms, privacy policies, and your device settings.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App's features or legal requirements change. Updates will be posted here with a revised "Last updated" date.
